This series began with formal shots of each gourd, studies of form and color against stark black or white backgrounds. But very quickly the gourds took on a life of their own, nudging each other around the table into little tragicomic tableaux, eager to show off their best sides. With their quirky shapes and wonderful colors, the gourds can look sly or curious, happy or sad, studious or lazy; and some gourds can seem all those things, depending on the angle you hold them. So I hope you enjoy this series and that it brings a smile to your lips!
